William and Catherine Release 2025 Christmas Card Featuring All Three Children
The Prince and Princess of Wales have released their annual Christmas card, showing the family of five relaxed and smiling among spring daffodils in Norfolk.
The photograph, taken by Josh Shinner in April, shows William and Catherine seated on grass with Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis gathered around them. It's notably informal – no suits, no staged palace backdrop, just a family enjoying the outdoors together.
"Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas," the couple wrote on social media alongside the image.
The card marks another milestone in what has been a significant year for the family. Catherine spent much of 2024 undergoing treatment for cancer, announcing in September that she had completed chemotherapy. In January of this year, she shared that she was in remission, making an emotional return to the hospital where she received treatment.
Her gradual return to public duties has been carefully managed, with the Princess choosing engagements selectively as she continues her recovery. This Christmas card, showing her surrounded by her family, sends a clear message of togetherness and resilience.
Sharp-eyed royal watchers will notice the images appear to be from the same Norfolk photo session used for Prince George's 12th birthday portrait and Prince Louis's 7th birthday photo earlier this year – a practical approach that also ensures visual consistency.
Last year's Christmas card carried particular emotional weight, using an image from the video Catherine released announcing the end of her chemotherapy treatment.
The relaxed setting reflects Prince William's stated desire to do things differently. There's no formal pose here, no palace grandeur – just a young family on the grass. It's a distinctly modern, approachable image of royalty that feels more millennial than monarchical.
The Wales family is expected to join King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the rest of the royal family at Sandringham in Norfolk for Christmas Day, continuing the long-standing royal tradition of gathering at the estate for the holiday.
King Charles and Queen Camilla released their own Christmas card earlier this month, featuring a photograph taken during their state visit to Rome in April.
