The Prince and Princess of Wales are set to change residences once again, moving their family to Forest Lodge, a grand redbrick estate nestled within Windsor Great Park.

Prince William and Catherine will relocate to the eight-bedroom property later this year, accompanied by their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. The move will place them only a short distance from their current residence, Adelaide Cottage, and close to Lambrook School, where the children are already enrolled.

A Kensington Palace representative confirmed the move, noting: “The Wales family will move house later this year.”

The couple first made Adelaide Cottage their primary residence in 2022, shifting from Kensington Palace to the four-bedroom home. In addition to their Windsor base, the family also maintains Anmer Hall in Norfolk and Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace.

Forest Lodge, their soon-to-be new home, has a history of both grandeur and renovation. The property underwent a £1.5 million restoration in 2001 before being offered on the rental market for £15,000 a month. At the time, interiors highlighted the home’s period charm, including intricate plasterwork, vaulted ceilings, and stone detailing.

Recent planning documents filed with the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead suggest subtle alterations are underway, including changes to a fireplace and the removal of a window. Permission for these works was granted earlier this month, paving the way for the family’s transition.

While William and Catherine have always balanced royal duties with family life, the move to Forest Lodge signals a desire for more space while staying rooted in Windsor, close to both school life and the heart of the royal estate.
